Kostelní Square, Broumov
realizace 2007
authors: David Chmelař, Milan Vít
client: Town of Broumov
The church´s volume divides the square into two parts. The southern part serves as one of the main entrances to the city center, the northern one is much larger and is of a recreational character - students from schools in the neighbourhood like spending their free time here. A horizontal esplanade established by cutting in the naturaly sloping square is a distinct element of the new design, street lightning is untraditionally placed in risers of the new builded amphitheatre. Paving made from original granite cubes and basalt chips unified both parts.
