Kiosk in Letná Park, Prague

finished 2019

client: The City Prague

The assignment of the kiosk project in Letná Park (Letenské sady) was simple: floor plan 7x7m, height max. 3.5m, defined location. In addition to the kiosk, the building must also contain publicly accessible toilets, all due to the isolated location as vandal-proof as possible. The result is an "unbreakable" shed clad in plates of corten sheet with a slightly truncated counter roof with extensive greenery. The soft interior of the kiosk made of birch plywood with a strip of sales window is covered by a hydraulically raised massive shutter, which in the folded position fully covers and protects the window, and in the open position partially covers the terrace in front. Barrier-free public toilets have the inner surfaces of the walls and floors covered with black studded rubber, the fittings are stainless steel, and circular glass openings in the doors provide light. The ground floor of the kiosk is paved with gray-beige granite, fitting in with the concept of Letná Park.
