Museum of glass and jewelery, Jablonec nad Nisou
study 2013
client: Muzeum skla a bižuterie v Jablonci nad Nisou
Extension of the Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou, designed to expand exhibitions and museum shop, is proposed for the southeast corner of the main building of the museum, as a counterweight to its existing left wing. The shape of the extension is inspired by liquid glass bulb on the blowpipe. The fully glazed volume, standing on a subtle skeleton, only lightly touches the existing building in place of the necessary operational connection.
