Reconstruction of the Family House, Hostivice
finished 2018
It is a reconstruction of a detached villa on the corner of Fibichova and Komenského streets in Hostivice near Prague. The villa was built in the early 1940s in the characteristic style of a First Republic villa. According to the original plans, the villa was not built in full, over the years, the decorative elements around the windows and on the bay window towards the garden were probably removed. Recently, a winter garden for growing citrus was added to the bay window, which carelessly changed the original appearance of the bay window and the entire facade in question. As part of the design, we tried to get as close as possible to the original design of the house from 1939, as was distorted in the original plans. We designed all the new elements (especially the entrance area of the veranda) as independent of the mass of the house, architecturally corresponding to the modern morphology. We tried our best to return the decorative elements on the facades, such as the brick cladding of the windows, the round windows in the gables, the decoration of the bay window, etc.
