The STORY DESIGN complex is situated in the south-eastern outskirts of Litomyšl. The architectural design was created in 2007, and it was implemented in three stages. In the first stage, a horizontal object facing the inner yard was built in 2008. In the second stage, an extension shaped like an irregular crystal, the dominant feature of the complex, was built at the end of 2015. Besides the main entrance, it houses the studio of the company’s creative department and, most importantly, the representative premises, including a two-storey shop window facing the street. In terms of construction, the extension has a light steel skeleton coated with light industrial panels combined with glass-fronted facades and windows with metal frames. The white construction of the skeleton and of the interior coating is part of the whole stylistic conception. The third stage was completed in 2017, when the street facade of the original building was reconstructed. Also, the original buildings were unified with white coating and the installation of distinctive horizontal blinds on the protruding oriel. The entire composition is based on a contrast in shapes, colours, light and shadow. Our aim was to employ these simple principles in order to achieve a powerful visual effect.
