The new Headquarters of Česká spořitelna, Prague 5 - Smíchov

The competition proposal dealt with the new headquarters of largest Czech bank Česká spořitelna and the related development of the area near Smíchovské nádraží in Prague, Czech Republic. We created the team with Atelier Krátký and thus recalled the cooperation from the beginning of our professional career. We based our concept on the idea of semi-open city blocks. The southern part of them, connected by a base with a view of Vyšehrad, was intended for Česká spořitelna. The public space took the form of a undulated street that passes through the area in a north-south direction, widened at the point of an imaginary intersection with Radlická Street. In this intersection, the center of gravity of the entire urban composition, we have placed a modest church. The competition, in which 300 teams from all over the world entered, we advanced among the 6 finalists.
