The design is CUBOID’s contribution to an international two-round architecture and urban development tender for the new general headquarters of Forests of the Czech Republic, s.e. in the outskirts of Hradec Králové bordering a forest park.

They had to design a new representative building for the company’s headquarters with an emphasis on the use of wood as a significant architectural-construction element, while focusing on an environmentally friendly and sensitive approach in more than just the immediate vicinity of the building.

The building is designed as a "forest house" with a forest park and a rainwater biotope nearby. The building itself is a wooden structure with only three storeys so that it is not higher than the tops of the full-grown trees around. In addition to an entrance and a space for the public, the ground floor boasts a conference centre with a multi-purpose hall, a canteen, a small wellness centre and accommodation for external employees and the caretaker. The first and second storeys house various departments of the organization with offices around the circumference of the building and around two internal atria. One underground storey provides space for parking, storerooms, archives and the technological/service maintenance of the building.
