Villa in Černošice

finished 2011

The 'L shaped' house is designed to benefit from its position on a sloping plot of land with a southern orientation. The eastern wing is a one-storey construction with a green roof. The parallel wing on the western side is two-storey. The architectonical conception is based upon the composition of simple horizontal sections, interrupted by large windows with delicate hidden metal frames. The convex shape of the northern façade responds to the shape of the plot of land alongside the street and at the same time accentuates the main entrance. The external fabric marquees that shade bedroom windows revive the facades.

The entrance from the street, sheltered by a protruding bracket, is on the major compositional axis of house that continues in a westerly direction through the entrance hall, dining room and living room to the garden. The main living space of the house is formed by the kitchen, dining room and living room freely continuing to the garden. The dining room with a staircase is the heart of the house. It is a place that is connecting its day and night part, a gallery illuminated by a roof porthole. It is a place of daily communication over a family table.

The upper floor, accessible by a staircase in the dining area is divided to a section for children and a section for parents.

Aside from the residential rooms in the eastern side of the plot, the ground floor wing boasts a double garage and a storage room for garden furniture, tools and sporting equipment.
